The Hiroshima Railway Station Front “Gateway to Peace” will be a memorial complex that will serve to educate visitors about nuclear war and how to create a peaceful world.
On August 6, 1945, the city of Hiroshima was leveled by an atomic bomb blast that killed over 120,000 people. Over the next few decades, the city was rebuilt into a shining example of the determination and pride of its citizens.
The Gateway to Peace’s mission is to turn that tragedy into an opportunity to honor the people who perished and educate young people on their responsibility toward creating a peaceful world for future generations.
